Reach the people who plan Bay Area weekends

BayAreaTX is the local guide to Bay Area Houston, from Pearland to the Gulf, rebuilt from public calendars every morning. Listing your event or weekly special is free. If you'd like more visibility, here's what's available. Get in touch and we'll talk it through.

Get listed for free

We list things on their merits, not on who pays. If it's open to the public and worth a neighbor's time, send it in.

  • List your event free

Festivals, markets, shows, fundraisers, library and school events. Send the date, time, place and a link, and we'll add it to the calendar (and the weekend picks, if it's a standout).

    Email us your event
  • Send us your weekly special or kids-eat-free night

Happy hours, trivia and live music nights, weekly food specials and kids-eat-free nights go on Deals by day and Kids eat free once we've checked them.

    Email us your special

What's available

Ways to work together

  • Newsletter sponsorship

One clearly labeled sponsor spot in the Thursday letter, the weekly email of five things worth leaving the house for.

  • Featured events and places

Extra visibility for your event or business on the site, always marked "Sponsored". It never changes where anything ranks in our lists or picks.

  • Sponsored weekend day plans

A ready-made day out built around your corner of the Bay Area, labeled as sponsored, with stops we would recommend anyway.

  • Event promotion

Help getting a festival, show, market or fundraiser in front of locals who plan their weekends with us.

  • Seasonal guide sponsorships

Present a seasonal guide: holiday lights, boat parades, spring break, summer on the water, back to school.

  • Chambers, schools and libraries

Partnerships with chambers of commerce, school districts, libraries and nonprofits: shared calendars, community guides and cross-promotion.

  • Something else

Have another idea? Tell us about it.

What it looks like

Examples of sponsored spots

Mockups with made-up names, so you can see exactly how a sponsored item is labeled. They aren't real listings.

The rules we keep

Sponsorship policy

  • Labels are always shown. Anything paid for is marked "Sponsored" (or "Sponsor" in the newsletter), wherever it appears.
  • Ranking is never for sale. Our picks, lists, top picks and search results are editorial. A sponsorship never moves anything up or anyone else down.
  • Free listings stay free. Events and weekly specials are listed on their merits whether or not anyone sponsors anything.
  • We can say no. We can decline any sponsorship, for example when it isn't a good fit for a local guide or isn't something we'd recommend to a neighbor.
